Celebrities: sometimes we want to be just like them, and other times, we can't help but roll our eyes at them. And that's where Celeste Barber comes in and combines the best of both these worlds. The Australian comedian pokes fun at some of the more ridiculous Instagram photos uploaded by Hollywood stars by recreating the shots herself. And it turns out that once the photoshop and perfect lighting is stripped away, some of these posts are just bizarre! So keep scrolling to see which celebrity Celeste has been busy teasing lately.
In The Bag
Here’s Mad Men, Handmaid’s Tale, and Top of the Lake star Elisabeth Moss, wearing what looks suspiciously like a polka-dot netted bag on her head. Why? We’re not sure we'll ever know. Despite this unique accessory, the actor still succeeds in looking stunning. So instead of us wasting time wondering about the backstory to this image, our attention turns quite naturally to a picture of Celeste's version of events.
Here we have her setting a new trend. She has the classic bank robber vibe down to a tee, with her head hilariously squished into a pair of black-spotted tights.
A Fine Balancing Act
We’re not quite sure how either Lady Gaga or Celeste managed to get into this pose and keep it long enough for the shot to be taken. If it were us, we’d have keeled over and landed on our butts in no time at all. So, it's a round of applause from us for pulling this one off and staying in one piece, and extra applause to Lady G because her stool is higher!
Now, if we saw this shot of Lady Gaga in a magazine, we probably wouldn't think twice. But after seeing Celeste's version, we can't help but wonder, why?
Collars Are Making a Come-Back
American model Grace Elizabeth, who has a big Instagram following, is pictured here in a cute white dress and what appears to be some ginormous Elizabethan-style collar. We have to ask ourselves if the collar is always that high, how does she manage to see anything?! However, our eye is instantly drawn to the non-celeb version in which Celeste looks like she’s sporting a nightgown. And the best part is, of course, the giant plastic cone around her neck.
It looks like one of those collars dogs have to wear after a doggy operation to stop them scratching themselves. Here’s hoping Celeste wasn’t suffering from some itchy head rash, right?
Taking Footwear To New Heights
So here’s Cardi B sharing an image of herself in a pair of Dsquared2 double-decker sneakers, alongside the caption “b**** sit down before I sit you.” The post gained 3.6 million likes in a day. Despite the bottom of the sneakers being flat, they kind of look like ankle breakers to us. But, of course, we’ll never know if the singer actually succeeded in walking very far in these ambitious sneakers.
Instead, we’re laughing at Celeste’s version, where she’s stuffed her feet into three separate pairs of sneakers to mimic the look. That, and the respective butt-squat position she's attempted to replicate!
Trying Out The Windswept Look For Style
We love this hilarious take on this image of Miley Cyrus. Here the singer is inexplicably straddling a fan, presumably to cool herself off after a performance? We're assuming this silver outfit was for a show. After all, as gorgeous as it is, it’s not the kind of thing you would wear to buy a loaf of bread. On a different note, Celeste has made us proud here, dressed in a lurex all in one suit.
All that while straddling, er…what exactly is that? It looks like it could be a leaf blower that’s making Celeste look like she’s walking in solid winds during hurricane season.
When It’s In The Bag
We all love a bit of fashion, but there’s fashion, and then there’s the plain ridiculous. So it’s a small wonder that Celeste took to Instagram to show her feelings about this Victoria Beckham ad. Here the ad shows just a model’s long, tanned, and lovely legs in a pair of white stilettos while wearing a giant shopping bag named after the designer herself. However, we especially love the parody version, including a much smaller shopping bag.
And we love to see those big undergarments! We’re hoping that this image started a whole big panties trend of its own amongst Celeste’s followers.
It’s Always A Good Idea To Get an Outsider's Opinion
Why? Because while we’re not in the business of being nasty about any of these celeb images, we’re wondering why anyone, including Kim Kardashian, would want to pose in flesh-colored contour shapewear. That said, she still looks incredible! We're assuming this was to promote her shapewear line rather than advocating this as a full look. But we're just glad this image exists because without it, neither would Celeste's version on the right.
There she is with her hair scooped back in flesh-colored lycra, standing proudly on her balcony against a skyscraper backdrop. We especially love those caricature pouting lips - what a bonus!
Don’t Try This At Home, Folks
There’s nothing like a bit of body contortion to get the blood flowing before breakfast, is there? We’re not entirely sure what exactly is happening in the first photo, other than that a long-limbed model has folded themselves almost in half while sitting on a bicycle. It’s a perfectly normal thing to do, right? Whoever this model is, we want to know what her yoga routine is and how she got so flexible!
Happily, in stark contrast, we also have the less-bendy version on the right, with Celeste in her undies atop a teeny bike (with training wheels) flexing herself into the best approximation of this crazy pose.
Definitely In Vogue
This is Irina Shayk. a model and fashion icon who posed for Vogue Portugal. One of the images taken during the Vogue shoot was this one on the left, with the model seemingly blowing out a jet of water. On the right, we have the Celeste version of events. Here she is in a cute pair of shorts and a white t-shirt just like the Vogue counterpart, having had a bucket of water thrown over her.
We love that Celeste has even mimicked the black bow in her hair! The result is a surprisingly stylish imitation of the real thing! Celeste looks pretty fabulous here.
It Costs A Lot Of Money To Look This Good!
OK, so here are two good-looking models on the left with a colorful albeit somewhat quirky dress sense. Whatever the reason for those clothes being put together like that, we’re pleased to see Celeste jumped right in there with her own hilarious version. It’s good to see her husband joining in, too. That adorable shower cap and inexplicable gold boxing glove complete the couple's parody cool outfit. They’ve nailed it.
We love that Celeste and her husband have also practically got the models' facial expressions and poses down to a tee too! But most of all, we love how relatable it is that something looks so cool on these models and so... bizarre on us regular folks.
Who Needs An Olympic Pool Anyway?
Whose idea was it to photograph Karlie Kloss dressed to kill in an empty Olympic-size pool anyway? While we can’t ignore the fact that this floor-length black dress is fabulous, especially paired with those great heels, its effect is kind of lost in this image. So let's instead focus on Celeste’s recreation taken in her bathroom. The comic is looking pretty sorry for herself while standing in her bath.
As for the dress, well, we’re a big fan of Celeste's outfit! Black dresses are so versatile; they can be worn anytime, even when you need to stand in the bath, right?
The Perfect Saturday Night Accessory
If we had to take a vote on which of these two images we prefer, we’re definitely heading towards the one on the right. Celeste is in her nightie again, and this time it’s accessorized with a ginormous wreath of red flowers around her face. Kendall Jenner fans may be disappointed by our choice, but we’re in Celeste’s floral corner this time. We guess we're just not big fans of baby’s breath!
Kendall's image was taken for a Vogue cover in 2018. While it’s undoubtedly iconic to us, the world’s highest-paid supermodel has unfortunately been dressed to resemble an emu. But Kendall could be wrapped in a paper bag and still look incredible!
One Hat Too Many
American singer, rapper, and actress Janelle Monae has a history of wearing more than one hat. At the Met Gala in 2019, she wore four hats and a dress that included a large face with a blinking eye. One thing’s for sure: she always stands out and does so flawlessly. She has a unique sense of personal style that’s unlike anyone else’s. That said, let’s fast forward to Celeste.
We’re laughing hard at her version, where she’s wearing a selection of great headwear, including a giant crash helmet and a little baby sunhat. One of our favorite recreations so far.
Who Needs Mascara Anyway?
So, on the left, we have singer Ciara Wilson somehow achieving what most of us know is impossible. We’re talking about managing to apply mascara to our lashes while still looking beautiful. Most women are with us here, right? And Celeste agrees. Here she is in a strapless number, trying to apply mascara effortlessly. Mascara wearers worldwide know there’s an unspoken universal truth about this act. And it’s this:

The Best Way To Connect With Nature
Just in case you were wondering how you could reconnect with the great outdoors, feel the sun on your skin and the wind in your hair, here’s the solution. Just pop on your favorite bikini, grab a sunhat and a matching chiffon scarf and stand close to some trees. Lift your arms and act like you’re a tree as the wind moves through the woods and you hear the leaves rustling. That's how you do it, right?

How To Get Kicked Out of The Grocery Store
It’s pretty simple - all you have to do is dress up like model Hailey Baldwin. The model and media personality was posing for a feature for a 2018 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and she is killing it! Also known for her marriage to Justin Bieber, Baldwin has over 40 million Instagram followers and is no stranger to the limelight. However, we’ll probably always wonder why they put her in two pairs of underwear.
We have to wonder if Celeste was escorted out of the store after her recreation of Hailey's photoshoot was completed. Perhaps she knew the store owner, and they did her a favor.
Who Needs Palm Trees?
Here is another snap of Hailey Baldwin, this time in a gorgeous bikini standing next to what looks suspiciously like a dead tree on a beach. Of course, she looks lovely, tanned, happy, and incredible in her yellow snakeskin two-piece! If we're being honest, we're not not jealous. Have you got beach envy? Don't worry; Celeste is here to cure those blues. We have to admit we prefer her version.
Here image tells a more realistic, tell-it-as-it-is picture. It’s cloudy, that bikini has seen better days, and she’s carrying a dead twig. Who needs blue skies and Caribbean blue sea anyway.

Say hello to Emily Ratajkowski - here she is in a teeny bikini on the beach standing on a two-wheel Segway. We have to admit the balance is pretty impressive! Lucky for us, Celeste has also given us her budget version for anyone who hasn’t got the bank balance to buy themselves the more expensive (and comical) alternative. We love Celeste's four-wheel trolley. What’s not to like? For starters, it’s multi-purpose.
You could also wheel the shopping home, give the kids a ride around the block, and sit down if you need a break from standing; the possibilities are seemingly endless.
The Ultimate Beach Photo-Op
Who doesn’t do a stylish hair flip when they’re on holiday and want that ultimate on-the-beach-style shot for their Insta account? After some digging around, we discovered the first image is of the Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen. She has over 18 million Instagram followers to her name and loves being in the sea. So, what better way to show you’re a nature lover than by doing a lively hair flip?
Celeste’s version of that hair flip proves that it's probably not as easy to replicate. So we have to ask - what’s wrong with just going to the beach for a quiet swim?
Thirsty Anyone?
We all know how important it is to drink enough water every day to stay healthy and hydrated. So here’s a terrific example of how to go all out on the fluids front. Why bother with a glass when you can just pour straight from the bottle? Who needs a middleman. As long as you don't care about losing half of the bottle's contents to the ground, no one does.
Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio looks absolutely stunning in this photoshoot, despite her strange way of drinking water. But, once more, we have to admit Celeste's hilarious recreation beats them all.
You Can’t Run Away From Celeste!
A few years ago, Adidas collaborated with American fashion designer Alexander Wang to roll out some new sports apparel. Our model on the left is pictured wearing a pair of red trainers around her neck (where else) and a couple of stylish yet straightforward sports shorts. On the right, Celeste flips things on their head as she mimicks the image. How? By wearing a pair of fins around her neck instead. Because, why not?
As for us, we’re trying to keep our counsel here, but it does seem kind of a funny way to try and sell a pair of shoes, or is that just us?
Just Some Casual Ballet in the Middle of the Road
There have been many times when we’re out and about, taking in the air, and suddenly felt so full of the joys of spring that we just had to leap up and do a big old leg split...or not. In fairness, it’s a beautiful and artistic image of a ballet dancer pictured on the streets of what we think is old Havana, Cuba. We have to admit - it's pretty impressive! How is it even possible?
Celeste’s own version of this stylish shot is actually pretty impressive! Here she is making her best attempt at a difficult ballet position. We especially love the backdrop of the trash bins!
Causing A Stir For The Wrong Reasons
Here’s an image of Kim Kardashian posing in a high-cut black swimsuit with her good pal and make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic. So far, so good. However, Kim’s Insta fans didn’t react the way she’d presumably hoped, taking to Instagram to complain that the image doesn’t look like the media personality and businesswoman at all. While we don’t know the outcome of this tale, we do know what Celeste did in response.
Here she is reenacting the exact same pose and looking fabulous too. With her is her handsome husband, also looking pretty cool dressed all in black. You’ll agree it’s a picture-perfect recreation!
Winning Hands Down
It takes a fair amount of core strength and stability to be able to pull this handstand pose off, even more so since it’s on the sand and sea. So we’ll admit it, we’re pretty impressed. This yoga position is definitely not for the faint-hearted. We certainly couldn't pull it off! To be fair, we are equally impressed by Celeste's own good-sported attempt at the pose in the image on the right.
We have never really fully understood why anyone would actively choose to er...walk on their hands, especially on sand. But hey, each to their own, so kudos to them both.
Who Needs A Parasol?
Here’s a clever parody of the image on the left, taken of a woman looking pensively out to sea while wearing a giant sun hat. Honestly, this might just be the biggest hat we've ever seen. How much does it weigh? How would you keep it on your head as you walk around? These are just a couple of questions that sprang to mind when we saw this image! That said, we’re guessing the ginormous hat is to protect her from the harshness of the sun’s rays.
Elsewhere we have the perfect fun poke, with Celeste in a teeny hat and a big pair of pants. Our choice would be a mix of the two, the big pants and the big hat.
Raise A Glass to Celeste
It’s Kardashian time again. When isn’t it? This time it’s the turn of Kourtney Kardashian holding up something we think is probably a smoothie mix that she’s been paid to promote. Whether it’s for her or her baby, we’re not sure. That said, here she is in her underwear, suggesting smoothies are the way to go for a healthy life. Personally, we prefer Celeste's wine diet - much more fun!
We are with Celeste on this one. We love her parody of this celeb ad, which offers failed dieters the no-guilt alternative: white wine in a big glass. It's time to raise a glass!
The Morning After A Big Night Out
Actress Chloe Grace Moretz posed for the top image, although we have no clue why. Having said that, we love the plaid suit circa 1975 look she’s sporting and the sepia retro tone of the image. It’s a real kickback to that time. Let’s face it; we’ve all done it after a big night out. When you literally can’t walk on those killer heels anymore, and there’s no cab in sight.
It’s perfectly natural to hop into a shopping trolley and ask your buddy to wheel you home. Celeste definitely achieves the I saw the bottom of a bottle of Tequila vibe!
When The Pool Is Too Cold
This image is one of several taken during a photoshoot for Glamour Magazine. You’re looking at British model Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley back in 2017. Here she is with her hair slicked back while relaxing in the pool in a full knitwear outfit. Maybe this shot was taken in mid-Winter, and she was a bit chilly, and the pool wasn’t heated? Or perhaps the photographer was exercising his creativity by having her pose fully dressed in the water.
Whatever the reason, we love Celeste’s hilarious version, complete with an oversized grey turtleneck sweater. It’s the perfect parody of the original! That said, she doesn't look very happy - we hope she didn’t get too cold!
A Great Way To Entertain Your Neighbors
What? Come on; we thought everyone did their morning yoga practice on the window ledge of their apartment? To be fair, this unknown model’s pose is pretty impressive, right? Not everyone can achieve that, and frankly, we would struggle to even make it up onto the ledge, never mind anything else. Overall, the floor seems like a safer bet to us for our early morning stretches! In contrast, Celeste entertains us with the real-life version of this pose.
This is a far more accurate depiction of what we would look like if we attempted such a stretch. We're sure she gave the passersby a good laugh, too - good vibes all around!
Famous Couples Just Love To Share
Here’s supermodel Naomi Campbell with her then-boyfriend rapper Skepta. This image was posted in 2018 and was taken in a Paris hotel room. The result? It was liked more than 100,000 times in 14 hours by some of her millions of Instagram followers. What has us most perplexed, however, is her hair. How did she get her gorgeous locks to stay like that? Is that a wig? Photoshopped? Natural? Someone, please tell us her secret!
Thankfully we have Celeste and her husband to bring us back to earth with their spoof take on the romantic pair, complete with faux erotic faces that had us laughing into our morning coffee!
Just Catching Some Rays
The truth is, we prefer the Veuve Clicquot Celeste has tucked into her bikini bottoms, as well as her parody of the image on the left. Seriously, who looks that tanned and toned when they’re topping up their Summer tan? Of course, if it’s us, we’re usually lying semi-conscious on a sun lounger while drooling and trying to sleep off last night’s cocktails, right? So the Celeste parody is spot on for us.
We just wish we were there to soak up some of that sun and share a glass or two of that fabulous champagne with our favorite genius comedian. What a day that would be!

Two strong-looking women, both are looking like they’re spoiling for a fight. Are we right? In the left corner, it’s celeb model and TV personality Amber Rose in a pair of boxing gloves and shorts, promoting her latest Slut Walk. In the right corner, it’s Celeste, complete with parody tattoos and a mean and angry-looking face. Amber Rose is no stranger to controversy and is a strong and outspoken woman.
We’re big fans of Celeste’s literal takes on tattoos as body art and only hope that she didn’t use a permanent marker pen when she took up this combative pose.
Getting Ready To Swim With The Fish
Let’s say hello to Hailey Baldwin, aka Mrs. Bieber, again; this time, she’s dressed in some kind of complicated swimsuit with back ruffles. It looks a bit complex and uncomfortable to us. But we’re hardly fashion kings and queens here, so what do we know? We’re also struggling to get our heads around the t-shirt too. Was it cold? According to Twitter, this image is from 2018, and Hailey is in St Lucia.
Happily for us, it looks like Celeste had a little bit more blue sky when she made her on-the-mark version of what purports to be a pretty glamorous beach shot.
Kim Breaking The Internet Again
This list wouldn't be complete without another image of super influencer Kim Kardashian. This time, she attracted our attention when she promoted her beauty products while applying her lipstick. The glamorous black and white image was posted in 2018 and unsurprisingly attracted considerable comment from her millions of adoring followers. We’re falling about laughing at Celeste's version, especially her shaving her morning mustache! Complete with makeup scattered everywhere and under-eye cream!
These small details really provide the cherry on top of the cake of this image. We think this stylish parody is just as good, if not better, than the original.
Who Needs Well Behaved Women?
This may seem ridiculous, but there is more behind this image of Chloe Sevigny than meets the eye. The idea is part of a series to launch feminist photographer Brianna Capozzi’s book, Well Behaved Women. The image on the left may not necessarily suit the more literal-minded connoisseurs. However, we think it has a particular glamor and individuality, although we have to admit, we're not big lovers of that fussy and frilly curtain.
As ever, Celeste has pulled it off again, this time in a pair of saggy pants and a white vest top while looking like she’s just been caught trying to escape out the window.
Beyoncé Smashes It Again
We are going to stick our necks out and say that no one quite pulls off the glamor and style the way Beyoncé does. Here she is, rocking it in a floor-length gown. It's an absolute royal pose taken by Tyler Mitchell for Vogue in 2018. However, we’re less sure about the green backdrop, which kind of looks like someone’s hung their duvet cover out to dry on a sunny day.
We think Celeste agrees. There she is looking pretty regal herself against a tiny piece of blue fabric heroically held up by her husband. You’ll agree both women look pretty wow, right?
On the Rocks
Instagram is full of images of people posing on rocks staring out into the unknown. It’s become almost de rigueur to include shots like that on your account, especially if you’re a travel or lifestyle blogger, right? So, here’s model and actress Joan Smalls on a photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar. Is that a Yoga pose, anyone? We’d love to know what it’s called. Joan looks epic in that black kaftan and stunning jewelry.
We just hope that pose didn’t hurt too much! Move over to Celeste, who’s looking pretty impressive too - so flexible! We think this image rivals any of those cliche Insta poses!

There’s nothing like a soak in the bath after a stressful day. However, we think things got a little mixed up here in the image on the left. Is that model wearing plastic bags on her legs? Or some kind of unique beauty treatment we don’t know about? Also, who relaxes in the bath with an apple and a bottle of water for treats? On a serious note, the image is part of Jimmy Choo's #FeetUpFriday campaign.

Tis The Season To Be Jolly
Here’s Kylie Jenner wrapped up in red and ready to go in this sequined mini dress. She’s all dressed up to party with Sofia Richie and her daughter Stormie at Astroworld. The holiday-themed outfit was apparently part of a campaign to publicize Jenner’s holiday-themed cosmetics line back in 2019. So at least now we know why she’s dressed up like a giant glittering Christmas parcel. Thankfully Celeste brings us back to earth.
She’s definitely wearing the party-after-the-after-party look with her hilarious outfit, plus a giant red bow while clutching a half-drunk bottle of matching Rose wine. It’s a ho, ho, ho moment.
That's How We All Look Cooking Dinner, Right?
Model Chrissy Teigen is pictured here in her kitchen dressed in an expensive-looking and pretty floral print robe, possibly designed by her? Anyway, there she is, wearing her robe while cooking something yellow. Any guesses as to what it is? At first glance, it looks like she has no right arm, but look carefully, and you’ll see she’s holding a drink of what looks like water in her right hand.
